Hamsa Amulet with Shaddai and Hexagram
Protective hamsa amulet from a Moroccan Jewish tradition, richly worked with dense engraving and raised metal detailing. At the upper center appears a hexagram (Magen David / Seal of Solomon), while the body of the amulet is inscribed with the Hebrew divine name שדי (Shaddai), a sacred name associated in Jewish tradition with protection, shelter, and guardianship.
The lettering of Shaddai is executed in raised repoussé-style relief, giving the piece strong texture and dimensional presence. Surrounding vegetal and geometric motifs frame the inscription, reinforcing the amulet’s protective intention. Amulets bearing the name Shaddai were traditionally worn on the body or hung in the home to invoke divine safeguarding against harm and misfortune.
