Dori Midnight
The State is not an Amulet: a conversation about Jewish Protection Magic and Mysticism as a Liberatory Practice
(Recorded)
Join Dori Midnight and Hadar Cohen for an inspiring conversation about how rooting into Jewish healing traditions and ancestral wisdom can support us in divesting from nationalism, militarism and Zionism. Dori believes that re-enchanting some of our Jewish protection and healing rituals can offer us radical possibilities/counterspells to help us resist/undo empire and redefine what “safety” and “protection” mean. Hadar teaches about divesting from militarization through investing in mysticism and how rooting in our relationship with the Divine is vital in our justice pursuits. What would it look like to point these ancestral legacies towards liberation and find the gems in our lineage that are embodied, relational, reciprocal, non-extractive, life affirming, and foster kinship across time and space?
Dori Midnight is a community healing practitioner, ritual artist, writer, and deep listener oriented towards healing and liberation.
